Linda Darlene Romines, born Friday February 18, 1949, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 9, 2023 in Port St. Lucie Florida, surrounded by loved ones.
Darlene was born in Knoxville TN to Lillie (Gann) and Isaac ‘Cal’ Romines, youngest of nine. Darlene, more affectionately known as Grammy, graduated from IUPUI as an LPN, worked in multiple hospitals in Indiana, and took great pride in her work.
Survived by her sister Sarah White (Jack), son Anthony ’Tony’ Buce, daughter Christina Buce; Granddaughters Sarah Waters (Adam), Darlene Buce, Jacqulyn Buce (Fabio), Brandy Buce, Ambria Buce, Audrey Buce, grandson Tyler Buce; Great-grandchildren, Marley and Adam ‘AJ’ Waters Jr, LillieOlivia ‘Lillie’ Brickner, Rilee Buce, Sebastian Amelia and Theodore Filla and Briella Buce.
Preceded in death by her parents Lillie Helene Gann, Isaac Calvin Romines; Siblings Helen, James, Cornelia, Frank, Barbara, Carolyn and Joann.
To Darlene her family was her life, she was a single mother to her two children, grandmother to seven and great grandmother to 10. Darlene retired as a privet nurse in 2007 to care for her first great grandchild and each that followed. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, making most of her children’s clothing, and cooking, her meals brought family together, allowing many great memories to be made.
Her life, though hard at times, was filled with laughter and love from family and friends, she is sorely miss by all that knew her. Darlene was a generous woman with a big heart, doing everything she could to help others.
Per her request she was cremated without services, and will “Rest with Mama” in Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers she asks for a donation to St. Jude or to our Veterans be made in her name.
