Linda J. Sullivan

Linda Sullivan, 68, of Port Saint Lucie Florida died on Sunday November 26, 2017. Linda was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, the eldest child to Kolin and Pauline Marsell. She graduated from Braintree High School and lived in Weymouth, MA for most of her adult life until she retired to Florida to spend time with her grandson.


Linda, a.k.a. “the Matriarch” was a world-renowned 80’s lady and many will remember her for being completely in charge. She was not one for holding back an opinion and had a unique and colorful style for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. She loved listening to her old school honky-tonk music, playing cards, reading, knitting or binge watching her favorite shows. She was an extremely hard worker her whole life and was the most generous person in the entire world. She always put the needs of others before herself and would give you her last anything if it meant you didn’t have to go without or it would somehow make something nicer or easier for someone she loved. She loved her family so much but nothing gave her more happiness than being a main part in her grandson’s life and watching him grow. She has been with us every step of the way and we are so grateful for that and are going to miss you so much. I love you mom.


She is survived by her life love and soulmate, Charley Peterson; her daughter, Paula Coffey and her husband Allan; her grandson, Matthew Coffey; her sister, Nancy Bowman of Hull, MA and her daughter, Katie; her brother, David Marsell of Baldwinsville, NY and his children, David and Danielle; her niece, Christine Hendrickson of Port Saint Lucie; her nephew, Mark Hendrickson of Hull, MA and his wife Chrissy, along with their children, Bella, Lexi, and Cole; and nephew, Michael Hendrickson. She is predeceased by her parents and her beloved sister, Paula Marsell Hendrickson.

A Gathering will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 1PM – 2PM with a services starting at 2PM at Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984.
