CLARK, Lois M, age 90 of Fort Pierce, FL formerly of Westport, CT died on February 21 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce.
Lois was born on May 16, 1924 in Winchester, Massachusetts to Charles Rhodes and Marjorie Bond Marshall. Her family moved to Scarsdale, NY in 1929. Lois graduated from St. Margaret’s School in June 1942 and from Connecticut College in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. She started her career in NYC working at Jefferson Chemical Company owned by American Cyanamid as a developmental Chemist. Lois married Gordon Clark of Scarsdale, NY, they had five children and made their home in Westport, CT. She worked at Bedford and Coleytown Jr. High Schools and spent many years as a bank teller retiring from Union Trust in Westport in 1998. Lois spent three years at Ashlar of Newtown before moving to Florida in 2006.
Lois resided at Lake Forest Park for nine years where she served as Treasurer, making many friends as an active member of the community, participating regularly in Bingo and Wednesday Church Services.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 1993, sister Harriet in 2005, and son Gordon in 2006. She is survived by her children Carol Armstrong (Charles) of Port St. Lucie, FL; Nancy Clark (Maurice Cease) of Woodbridge, CT; Charles Clark (Nancy) of Southport, CT; Douglas Clark (Linda) of Madison, NJ; grandchildren Jairo Armstrong, Jeremy and David Cease, Carolyn, Cristin, Charles, Kimberly, Jennifer, Heather, Robert, Allison and Weston Clark as well as six nieces and two nephews.
