Lois F. Savage

Lois Savage was born October 3, 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts.

At the outbreak of World War II Lois joined the Woman’s Army Corp where she earned the rank of Sgt. and was assigned to the White House Motor Pool. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Thomas D. Savage. After completing her military service she lived in Needham, Massachusetts with her family until 1960 when they moved to Fort Pierce.

She was an accomplished artist having studied under A.E. “Beanie” Backus and was a past president of the Fort Pierce Art Club. Lois’ interests varied and she volunteered as a tour guide for Harbor Branch; served as a volunteer usher at the Mc Alpin Center of the then Indian River Community College and was a volunteer for Hospice of the Treasure Coast. Lois was an active member of Indian River Presbyterian Church.

Lois is survived by her son, H.D. Savage and his wife, Lisa of Ft. Pierce as well as her sister, Marjorie Stewart; nephew, David Stewart and niece, Ruth Stewart all of Yarmouth, Maine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dean Savage and her daughter, Marjorie Onell Savage.
