Lucy Veronica Alexander, 82, passed away May 2, 2017 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Lucy Veronica Greaves Alexander was born in Trinidad, and migrated to the United States in 1967 with hope of providing a better life for her three children.
She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and true friend to all who got to know her. She was a reserved person, never wanting to be in the spotlight.
Lucy enjoyed sewing, travelling and most of all cooking.
Survivors include; sons, Percival “Percy” Greaves of Johannesburg, South Africa and Alford Greaves of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; daughter, Cheryl Dejoie of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; sister, Joyce Greaves-Jones of Trinidad, and brother, Ancil Greaves of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Tamika Greaves, Nicholas Greaves, Janelle Hargrove, Jason Greaves, Quincy Greaves, Derrice (Tony) Davis, Derrick Ward, and Aldric (Crystal) Ward; 13 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Albert Alexander; mother, Agnes Greaves; father, Roderick Greaves, and six siblings.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 10AM – 12PM with a service starting at 12PM at Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984. Burial will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery 2200 Del Rio Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34953.
