Luis Angel Meléndez

Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Luis has been a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida for the past 10 years. He passed away on April 10, 2022 at his home.

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather leaves behind his wife, Trina Angelone Meléndez; son, Luis Meléndez (wife Erika Meléndez); daughters, Ivonne Sprague (husband Christopher Sprague), Angelina Arpaio (husband Brian Arpaio), Allison O’Brien, Courtney O’Brien, and Stephanie Marie Meléndez Cabrera; grandchildren, Haylee Sprague, Lincoln Luis Meléndez, Declan Arpaio, Jayden Flores Meléndez, and Kayden Flores Meléndez; mother, Maria Esther Cruz Mojer and sisters, Glorymar Meléndez and Lizette Meléndez. He has other extended family and friends in Florida and Puerto Rico.

He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Angel Meléndez.

Luis worked in online education and international business and banking. He received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.

A lifetime musician, Luis enjoyed great music, and loved to play his guitar and percussion instruments. Luis was a certified diving instructor, an avid boater, and loved everything to do with the ocean. He shared a great life of travels and adventure with Trina, always appreciating new experiences with a sense of wonder. Friends and family will miss his big heart, his fun-loving, caring, and generous spirit…and his homemade margaritas.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 11:00-11:30 AM with a prayer service at 11:30 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Inurnment will follow at White City Cemetery, Fort Pierce.
