With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved angel, Luna Athena Vega, who was taken from us too soon on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the tender age of 2. Luna brought immeasurable joy, light and love into our lives. Luna was very curious about everything in her world, and she embraced all adventures. Luna had a deep connection with nature, even beyond her years. Luna loved trampling barefoot through Savannas Park, where she would stop to smell every flower and hug every “twee” and say, “tank you”, because they need our love too. Luna taught us to never take for granted God’s beautiful creations. Luna especially loved music and every time it played, she would light up our world with her angelic voice. Luna loved to sing and dance. Some of her favorite songs were “When You’re Happy and You Know It,” “Baby Shark”, “Wheels on the Bus” and “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”. Luna was extremely smart, and she insisted on reading her flash cards multiple times a day. Luna quickly learned her ABCs and she was able to count to 10 in English and in Spanish. Whenever Luna got frustrated, she would run to her room and recite her ABC’s, and as soon as she got to Z, she would run out with a huge smile on her face and be ready to play again! Luna loved painting, especially the colors of the rainbow. She taught us to always color outside of the lines. Although her time on earth was short, she taught us a deeper love for each other, for nature, and for all of God’s creations. We will never forget the lessons Luna taught us: always “brusha teetz”, Echo is only supposed to play “Baby Shart”, the answer to “whadauwannawatch” is always Bluey, toy boxes are meant to be emptied, go down every “swide”, be 10 steps ahead of everyone else and always wear your smile.
Luna’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her pure and loving spirit. In the words of Luna, the only way to say goodbye is,
“BUH BYE, I WUV YOU, SEE YOU WAITER, MUAH.”
Luna is survived by her parents, Bryant Vega and Melanie (Lanie) Vega, her siblings, Jeremy Visger and Atlas Vega, her Grandparents, Darren and Dorie Vega, Fort Pierce, Fl, Frank Meadows, Stuart, Fl, Great-grandparents, Ronnie and Barbara Vega, Mandeville, La, George Meadows, Michigan, as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
