Lurene V. Gibbons, 89, died January 13, 2010 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Gibbons was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1985 coming from Miami, Florida.
Lurene was employed with the Dade County School System for 30 years. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, Elketts, Elks Lodge of Ft. Pierce, Ft. Pierce Women’s Club, American Legion Post 31 in South Miami, St. Lucie County Historical Society, former member of the First United Methodist Church of South Miami, and of The 8 & 40 Salon 34.
Survivors include her daughter, Patti & Donald Raffensberger of Port St. Lucie, FL; 2 grandchildren, Georgina Baker and Melissa Carter. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Carter and husband of 54 years, George Gibbons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist Church, 3114 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947 or to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
Services: Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
