Lyman W. Johnson, 83, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2020 in Fort Pierce, FL.
He was born on July 1, 1937 in Russellville, IL to Marlin and Frances Johnson. He wed the love of his life, Joan Kirby Johnson, on February 4, 1961.
Lyman attended and graduated from Hammond Tech Highschool and went on the join the U.S. Army. After his time with the Army he started his employment with the Saint Lucie County Fire District and later retired as the Assistant Fire Chief.
He was a proud member of Grace Church of the Treasure Coast and enjoyed softball, golf, jig saw puzzles, woodworking, basketball, and Nascar. Most of all Lyman loved to watch the Chicago Cubs play and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family.
Lyman leaves behind his wife, Joan K. Kirby-Johnson; Son, Mark A. Johnson and his wife Stacey; Granddaughter, Brooke Johnson; Grandson, Austin Johnson; and sister, Carrol Elliot. He was predeceased by many loving family members and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with service to follow at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to made to Treasure Coast Hospice located at 5000 NW Dunn Road in Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
