Lynn Wilwin Nelson, Sr.

Lynn W. Nelson, Sr., 78, died March 20, 2008 in Murphy, North Carolina.Mr. Nelson was a native of Ft. Pierce and moved to North Carolina in 2000.He was in the construction business and a citrus grower. Lynn was active for many years in the Fort Pierce National Little League as manager and coach, member of Gulf Stream Lodge Sons of Norway, serving several times as President, Past Master of the Ft. Pierce Masonic Lodge #87 F&AM, member of the Scottish Rite of Lake Worth, FL, charter member of the Amara Temple of the Palm Beach Gardens, FL, past President of the Ft. Pierce Shrine Club and the Clown Unit, 32nd degree Mason, and member of the Community United Methodist Church, Ft. Pierce.Survivors include his wife, Rita Pauline Nelson of Marble, North Carolina; sons & daughters-in-law, Lynn W., Jr. & Pam Nelson of Ft. Pierce, FL and Rick & Kim Nelson of Marble, NC; grandchildren, Ryon and Lara Nelson, Sonia and Andrew Trapp; great-grandchildren, Brandon Nelson, Kaylee McCrary, Alaina Beasley and Austin Trapp and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Leslie Lund and sister, Eunice Nelson.Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital, Burn Institute, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45229.Services: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 5-8 PM with a Masonic Lodge #87 F&AM Service at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
