Mae E. Sanders

Mae Ellen Sanders, 89, died December 2, 2010 at the Lynmoore in Fort Pierce, Florida surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Pearson, Georgia on April 15, 1921, and lived in Fort Pierce for more than 60 years. She worked in the citrus industry for a number of years and retired from the Council on Aging. She was a wonderful homemaker, skilled seamstress, and an expert flower gardener. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Sunrise Tabernacle Church.

She is survived by six children: Jimmy (Jeanne) Sanders, Helen (Billy) Hatcher, Beverly (Bill) Thiess, and Debbie (Rick) Hinkle all of Fort Pierce, Florida; Jerry (Carol) Sanders of Sarasota, Florida and Shirley (Bill) Jacobsen of Apple Valley, California; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one sister: Sue Nell Vining, and one brother: Sonny Vining of Adel, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sanders, daughter-in-law, Paula Sanders, three sisters and four brothers.

Services: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
