Manuel J. LaFont, 61, died February 17, 2013, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
He was born in New York, New York and was a resident of Vero Beach for the past twelve years coming from West Palm Beach, FL.
Manuel was a volunteer with Forest Hill Elementary PTO, Morningside Library where he read to the children and was a translator for the Meadowbrook Trailer Park. He was a ramp agent with Continental Airlines, worked 20 years as produce manager with Waldbaums, was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church and was a loving father and great Poppi.
Survivors include his sons: Andrew LaFont of Vero Beach, FL and Christopher LaFont of Florida; daughters, Michele Ortiz, Cassandra LaFont-Cooper, Nicole LaFont all of Florida and Danielle Rodriguez of New York; sisters, Hilda Cruz, Carmen Torres and Yvette Lopez all of Florida; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Timmy Schneckenburger.
