Margaret Frere passed away on her birthday, January 1, 2017. Margaret was predeceased in death by her husband Jules Frere, Jr. in 1999.
She was born in Washington, Missouri in 1930 and moved with her family to Fort Pierce in 1938.
Margaret was a homemaker and worked at her family’s business, Sweet’s Jewelers. Margaret was one of the seven members of St. Anastasia High School graduating Class of 1947. She was an active member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church her whole life.
She is survived by a her loving sister, Rosalie Arnold of Fort Pierce, Florida, her son, Ronald Frere married to Cyndee Frere of West Dover, Vermont; two daughters; Judith Frere Avril married to Howard Avril of Vero Beach, Florida and JoAnn Frere Hoffman of Quincy, Massachusetts; Also, surviving grandchildren are Jacob Avril, Ryan Frere, Alexander Frere, Andrew Frere, Victoria Hoffman, McKayla Hoffman, Jonathan Hoffman, and Matthew Hoffman; great grandchildren, Dylan Frere, Madelyn Frere, Grace Avril, Charles Avril, and Bianca Frere; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to John Carroll High School at 3402 Delaware Avenue, Fort Pierce.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church located on 407 South 33rd Street, Fort Pierce. A private burial will take place at a later date.
