Margaret Ruth Ponte, 97, died March 14, 2017 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mrs. Ponte was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and moved to Fort Pierce in 1992 coming from Warwick, Rhode Island.
She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church, Fort Pierce Women’s Club, and Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Edward M. Ponte of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Gailann (Joseph) Giardina of Fort Pierce, FL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sons, Anthony Ponte of Wakefield, RI, Royal Jones of Wakefield, RI, Richard Jones of Colorado, Russell Jones of Exeter, RI and Randall Jones of Fort Pierce, FL; sister, June Pidgeon of Stuart, FL.
Services: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
