Maria “Carmela” Gamez Cendejas, 62, died April 25, 2010 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Cendejas was born in La Yerbabuena, Michoacan, Mexico and lived in Ft. Pierce since 1974.
She was a member of the Juan Diego Center and past member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church choir.
Survivors include her husband, Heriberto Gamez of Ft. Pierce, FL; sons, Heriberto (Juana) Gamez, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL, Luis Jaime (Monica) Gamez of Ft. Pierce, FL and Juan (Endina) Tapia of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Marivel (Arturo) Luna of Ft. Pierce, FL, Ana Maria (Noe) Fernandez of Ft. Pierce, FL, Veronica (Jaime) Viera of Ft. Pierce, FL; Brothers, Salvador Cendejas, Jose Cendejas, Manuel Cendejas, Luis Cendejas, Juan Cendejas, Arciscio Cendejas, Vicente Cendejas, Jr. and Humberto Cendejas; sisters, Maria de los Angeles Becerra, Raquel Gamez and 14 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Research, South Florida Affiliate, 1309 N. Flagler Drive, 5th Floor, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
Services: Visitation was held on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 5-8 PM with a Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
