Marilyn Coffey, 77, a long time resident of Port Saint Lucie died Friday the 27th of May at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce.
Born in Albany, New York, Marilyn was a graduate of Berne-Knox High School. She worked as an Engineering Assistant for Ebasco Services and also for the Port Saint Lucie Chamber of Commerce. She served as seamen apprentice in the U.S. Navy WAVE, and in the early 1970’s she was involved in the Martin County Football league as a cheerleading coach at Sportsman’s Park in PSL. Marilyn was an avid reader and writer of short stories. She loved to travel and visited the exotic lands of Turkey, Egypt, and Greece. In the last few years, she spent much of her time enjoying life with her dearest friends Janet and John, and was an active member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; her son, Allan and his wife Paula of Port Saint Lucie; her son, Michael and his wife Tracie of Fort Pierce; and son Steve of Port Saint Lucie; grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, and Emily and her beloved cats, Sissy and Claude.
A memorial service will be held at the Haisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984 on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice
