MARK ACKERMAN

Mark Ackerman of Hutchinson Island, Florida, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware, died suddenly on January 23rd following a routine surgical procedure. He was a devoted husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend.

Mark was born November 26th,1963 to the late Paul and Genevieve Ackerman in Wilmington, Delaware. He grew up in North Graylyn Crest where he spent most of his summer days playing wiffle ball in the backyards with neighborhood friends. He was a graduate of Salesianum High School and Allentown College and played on the Men’s Tennis Team for both. He has worked in the insurance industry since graduating from college, most recently employed by PMA as a Senior Insurance Adjustor.

Mark was a happy man. He loved golfing with his friends, watching his beloved Philadelphia Phillies with his wife Patti at Citizens Bank Park and in Clearwater Beach, following his perpetually disappointing Minnesota Vikings, traveling to National Parks and Ohio State football games, and spending time with his family and his much-adored dogs. 

Mark was a good man. He embodied a lot of the qualities that he had long admired in his father, especially his kindness, his unassuming nature, his ability to find joy and humor in simple things, and devotion to his wife and family. 

Mark is survived by his wife of 15 years, Patti Ackerman, and her sons Brian Moylan and Stephen Moylan, his brother Paul Ackerman, his sister Michele Denn (Matt), and his nephews Adam Denn and Zach Denn. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Dave Sims (Mari), sisters in law Nancy Graham (John), and Peggy Dunn, and his nieces Morgan Kuhn, Angelina Kuhn, Lexi Kuhn, Avery Kuhn, and Addison Kuhn, and his nephew Dave Graham.

Mark was taken from us far too soon and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Garden 2400 Ocean Drive, Fort Pierce, Florida 34949. Friends and family in Delaware will have an opportunity to gather and honor Mark and share memories at a later date.
