Mary Jo Ashton

Mary Jo Ashton, 86, went home to be with her Lord on October 27, 2016 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mrs. Ashton was born in St. Augustine, Florida and moved to Fort Pierce in 1958.

She was a member of Orange Avenue Baptist Church. She was part of the musical group The Calvary Echos, spending time singing in nursing homes and local churches. She liked to surf-fish, paint, and sing. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Carl R. Ashton of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Christal (Michael) Stuhr of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Carl Wayne Ashton, Gary Stephen (Loly) Ashton, Anthony Allen (Mary) Ashton, and Joel Carlton (Ann Marie) Ashton all of Fort Pierce, FL; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 sister and 1 brother. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Linda Ashton, sister, Laverne, and brothers, Larry and Gilbert Leo.

Memorial contributions may be made to Orange Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Cyclone Drive, Fort Pierce, FL 34945.

Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
