Mary Lou Carbonneau, 87, died peacefully, by the grace of her Lord, March 9th, 2022, at her home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mary Lou had a life well-lived, in her own words:
“The Lord has blessed my life in so many ways, and I truly believe that he did indeed have a plan for me. I just hope I didn’t fight him too badly on what His plan was and what I thought that plan should be! Thank you, Lord, for my life on this earth. I look forward to life everlasting with you in heaven.”
Mary Lou was born February 7th, 1935, in Albion, Michigan, to Robert and Margaret (Ness) Bearman. She married the love of her life, Lester Carbonneau June 21st, 1979, and lived and worked in Albion, Michigan until her “retirement” after 28 years as an executive secretary from State Farm.
Following retirement, Mary Lou and Les relocated to Port St. Lucie in 1986. She joined St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where Mary Lou became the secretary in 1999, working until three weeks before her passing.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Robert, and Margaret (Ness) Bearman, her adoptive parents Paul and Matilda Herman, her beloved husband Lester Carbonneau, and daughter in-law Joann Carbonneau.
Mary Lou is survived by her five stepsons: John (Cindy)Carbonneau of Blaine, Minnesota, Jim (Mary Kay) Carbonneau of Greenwood, Minnesota, Jeff Carbonneau of Deephaven, Minnesota, Tom (Missy) Carbonneau of Deephaven, Minnesota, Tim (Carol) Carbonneau of Rush City, Minnesota; eight grandchildren: Nick, Michelle, Andrew (Renata), Katy, David, Dan (Lauren), Calley (Andrew), Pete (Rachel); seven great-grandchildren: Rachel, Addison, Hayden, Thomas, Evelyn, Louie, Willa, with three more on the way; several cousins, and special long-time friend, Doris Semon.
Her funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 19th at 4:30 pm with a reception and special meal to follow.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Andrew Lutheran Church or Treasure Coast Hospice.
