Mary Angela Duris, nee Pagnotti was called home to Heaven to be with the Lord on November 9, 2017, just short of her 69th birthday.
She is survived by sons Frank, Jr and Bobby (Leah), daughters Valerie (Scott) and Regina (Pete) and grandchildren; Massimo, Holly, Jackson, Kylie, Grace, Robbie, Perry, and Ace. Her sister Patricia (James) Sumner and brother Michael (Diane) Pagnotti also survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents Michael and Antoinette Pagnotti and brothers Domenick and Johnny. Her longtime and beloved partner of 28 years, Frank Colletti preceded her in death by only four months. She was loved by and touched the lives of so many of her large extended family, including her former spouse and father of her four children Frank Duris, Sr, and his wife Linda and her children Timmy and Tammy and grandson Joey; former daughter-in-law Ladonna; Julie and Frankie Colletti; her many nieces and nephews, their spouses, and children; in-laws; as well her local community neighbors and beloved friends. She will be missed and remembered forever.
Mary was born in NY, New York on December 27, 1948. Her family moved from North Babylon, Long Island in 1965 to South Florida where she attended Carol City High School for her junior and senior years, graduating in 1968. While raising and caring for her family, Mary obtained her R.N. degree and became a well-versed nurse starting in hospitals and transitioning to home health care, including working in Hospice Care. She used her strength of character to always advocate for her patients for many years.
Mary was a brilliant, caring, spirited, and proud Italian American woman who took pride in everything she focused on. She was a faith-driven Catholic who worked to instill the love of God in her children, their spouses, and grandchildren. All will reminisce of her strength and dedication.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 10:30AM to 11:30AM with a Mass starting at 11:30AM at St. David’s Catholic Church 3900 South University Drive Davie, FL 33328. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery 1500 State Road 7 North Lauderdale, Florida 33068.
