Mary Lois Wade Powers, 75, died May 1, 2012 at her home in Fort Pierce, FL with family by her side.
She was born in Godwin, North Carolina on September 4, 1936. She lived most of her life in Godwin/Fayetteville, North Carolina area, moving to Fort Pierce, FL 20 years ago to be near her daughter and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Cecil Harold Powers and her infant son, Cecil Harold Powers, Jr., brother, Alexander Mitchell Wade and parents, Mary Pope Wade and Alexander McClellan Wade.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Frances “Tommie” McDermid and H. Calvin McDermid of Ft. Pierce FL; son and daughter-n-law, Cecil Grant Powers and Cindy Powers of Boone, NC; sister, Virginia Wade Boucher and her 4 loving grandchildren, Calvin Alexander McDermid, Ryan Thompson McDermid, Allison Frances McDermid, and Justin Leigh Powers.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, First United Methodist Church of Ft. Pierce, FL and Surfside Community Church of Ft. Pierce, FL.
