Mary Frances “Biddy” Welch

Mary Frances “Biddy” Welch, 80, passed away on Christmas Eve 2023, in Vero Beach, FL. She was born in Fort Pierce, FL, the daughter of Robert G. Welch and Rose Anne McManus Welch.

Mary Frances was a graduate of the original St. Anastasia School on Orange Ave.  She attended Indian River Junior College and upon graduation moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.  She completed paralegal studies at the University of New Orleans working for the law firm of Baldwin Haspel for 40 years.  Mary Frances lived in her beloved New Orleans for over 50 yrs where she loved everything about New Orleans food, music, history, customs, and Saints football.  And Biddy loved to travel, especially on cruises for the Prairie Home Companion, with her life partner, Art Bancroft.  In her later years, she and Art loved to spend most weekends at their vacation home in Gulf Breeze, FL.

Mary Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and John.  She is survived by her sister, Josie Welch (Kevin ONeill).
