Matilda Theresa Thoennissen, 93, died April 17, 2012 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Thoennissen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1949.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She was also an avid gardener.
Survivors include her son, Raymond “Chuck” (Beverly) Thoennissen of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Stephanie (Harry) Hanewacker of St. Augustine, FL and Lorraine Todd of Ft. Pierce, FL; brothers, Guido Granata of Primos, PA and Albert Granata of Azusa, CA; sister, Jean Granata of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thoennissen, brother, Dewey Granata and sisters, Emilie Hanlon and Gloria Contarina.
Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 www.TCHospice.org or to St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 1924 Zephyr Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
Services: A memorial mass will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10:00AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
