Matthew Kalani Wheeler

Matthew Kalani Wheeler, 58, of Ft Pierce, FL went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 17, 2023. He was the husband of Melissa Varney Wheeler for 18 years. Kalani was born in Ft. Campbell, KY on March 4th, 1964, was raised in Hawaii, attended Kamehameha School, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the son of Joanna Owen Wheeler and the late Allen J. (Speedy) Wheeler.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Conner A. Wheeler; Samuel K. Wheeler and Maile N. Wheeler of Ft. Pierce, FL, his step-children Kalyn Dobbs Morales (Alec) and his grandchildren; Desmond Morales; and Atlas Moralas and two sons in Virginia and his sister, Sharilyn A. Leimomi Wheeler of Kea’au, Hawaii. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Allen C. Wheeler and Irene K. Aweau and Keun Mo Owen and Han Oak (Daisy) Sur.

He was known for his trumpet playing and enjoyed singing on worship teams, in Hawaii, Virginia and Florida.

He was employed by Davidson Insulation and Acoustics at the Ft. Pierce, FL office.

Memorial service to be held at 3 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Fairlawn Church, 3003 Rhode Island Ave, Ft. Pierce, FL. The service will be live-streamed on the church's Facebook.

Please dress in Hawaiian attire.
