Maxine Steele, 88, died September 13, 2009 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mrs. Steele was born in Mounds, Illinois and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1952 coming from Knoxville, Tennessee.
Prior to retirement, she worked for Sears as a Catalogue Supervisor for 33 years. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady with Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Carla McLaughlin of Ft. Pierce, FL; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Justin Steele, daughter, Sharon Tompson and granddaughter, Laura Young.
Services: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 4-6 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be conducted on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
