Melanie Clark MacphersonFort Pierce, FLMelanie Clark Macpherson, 48, passed away on August 3, 2016, in Vero Beach, Florida. She was born on July 10, 1968, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Melanie grew up in Fort Pierce and graduated from Fort Pierce Central High School in 1985. She received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida and two Masters Degrees in Educational Leadership and Reading from Florida Atlantic University. Melanie was an elementary school teacher in St. Lucie County for more than 23 years.She loved teaching, music, and the ocean. Melanie was a devoted mother and was always eager to share her children's latest accomplishments. She was vivacious and had a contagious laugh. She could light up a room with her infectious smile. If you needed her, she would be there.
Survivors include her husband, Ian Macpherson; son, Bryson McElroy; daughter, Nikki Sikes; step-daughter, Ava Noakes; God-mother, Rose Weisenbacher; brother, Jeffrey Clark; nieces: Mary Branscomb Bass, Jen Branscomb Sharpin, Sarah Branscomb Kopaz, Grace Davis Simonson, and Jessi Dickerson; nephew, Thomas Dickerson. Melanie leaves behind a group of girlfriends that were bonded by a special and unique sisterhood that lasted for more than 25 years.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas McElroy; son, Cameron McElroy; mother, Gwendolyn Clark; and sister, Tracy Topper Smith.
Services will be held for the public on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2pm at First Baptist Church located at 4500 S. 25th Street, Fort Pierce, Florida. There is no reception, it will be reserved for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her surviving children. A trust has been set up for their future education expenses. Checks can be made payable to the Trustee, Rose Weisenbacher and sent to PO Box 650165, Vero Beach, Florida 32965
