Melba F. Tiberi, 88, passed away at her home in Port St. Lucie, Florida on Friday, January 15, 2016.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island in September, 1927 she graduated from Central High School in 1945 and later attended Rhode Island College. She raised her family in Attleboro, MA and retired to Vero Beach Florida in 2003 and moved to Port St. Lucie in 2009.
Melba was a devoted mother to her 7 daughters and 15 grandchildren. Her wide interests included travel, culinary classes, reading, gardening, sewing, cake decorating and beading but most of all she treasured her grandchildren. Melba was a superb cook and hostess. She spent many years as a volunteer for the American Heart Association and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the last 7 years was a communicant of St. Bernadette Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Donna Tiberi of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Lori B. Tiberi of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Paula Anthony of White Plains, New York, Sheila Tiberi of Napa, California, Mary Warner of Columbia Station, Ohio, Lisa Simone of Mamaroneck, New York and Jane Saxena of Novato, California; sister Irene Di Censo of Providence, Rhode Island and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on January 21, 2016 and a Memorial Mass will be at St. Bernadette Church, Port St. Lucie, at 11:30 AM.
