Melvin David Pottorff
David Pottorff, 76, passed away on June 1, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Pottorff was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.
David graduated from Dan McCarty High School, Class of 1966, University of South Florida, and Miami Dade Mortuary College. David went on to work for Yates Funeral Home as a licensed funeral director, B&B Machine Shop, and then retired from Florida Power & Light Nuclear Power Plant, Fort Pierce after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a 32° Mason and a member of the St. Lucie Shrine Club. He was a clown in the Fort Pierce Shrine Club Clown Unit, founding member in 1965 of the Indian Hobby Association, and was proud to be an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife, Tena Pottorff of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Lisa Pottorff Davenport of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Chris Pottorff of Fort Pierce, FL; stepson, Chad Norman of Jupiter, FL; grandchildren, Katie Urban, Brianna Creel, Timothy Davenport, Ethan Norman, Victoria Raleigh, Landon Norman, Caleb Pottorff, and Taylor Chambers; great-grandchild, Cooper Chambers; son-in-law, Michael Davenport; sister-in-law, Bonnie Zaring; brother-in-law, Steve Zaring; other survivors, Amanda Gregory. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 4:30-6:30 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at White City Cemetery.
