Mercedes Lynn “Herkey” Farmer, 63, passed away on September 18, 2022 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mrs. Farmer was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Herkey worked for many years at Best Choice Meats in Fort Pierce. She never met a stranger and was a people-person, always making people feel good. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and always enjoyed when they would come to her house. She also loved to fish, whatever she hooked it always made its way home.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William Kerry Farmer of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Eddie (Lynn) Peterson of Fort Pierce, FL, step son, Brad Wilson of Fort Pierce, Fl.; daughters, Erica (Ricky) Willis and Peyton (AJ) Ruiz both of Fort Pierce, FL; brother-in-law, Terry Lee Farmer of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Kathy (Gary) Rein of Fort Pierce, FL and Patty (Wayne) Dyken of Sulligent, MS; brothers, Steven (Jeannie) Brown of Fort Pierce, FL, Jeff (Tami) Matheny of Vero Beach, FL, Gary (Patty) Holmes of Fort Pierce, FL, Ricky (Robin) Holmes of Vero Beach, FL; special uncle & aunt, Frank (Elsa) Waldrop of Fort Pierce, FL; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Jo Peterson and brothers, Eddie Holmes and Buzzy Holmes.

Services: A service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at The Life Center of the Treasure Coast, 2900 S. Jenkins Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
