Born in Canby, MN on Dec. 5th, 1931, Michael spent most of his youth in Grand Marais, MN where the family moved when he was a young child. After graduating from high school, he attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. He was drafted into the army in 1952-54 and served with his brother Everett in the Korean conflict.
In the late 50’s, Michael moved to Florida. He had a lifelong passion for automobiles and with his training at the GM Institute secured employment with Endicott Buick in Pompano Beach, eventually rising to the position of general manager. His tenure at Endicott lasted more than 20 years. Aside from his passion for automobiles, his ebullient and unpretentious personality endeared him to customers, colleagues and many friends near and far. In the mid-70’s, Michael moved to Stuart where he was associated with a Cadillac dealership before embarking on a career in real estate development. Later in life, he moved to Port St. Lucie where he remained until a debilitating stroke in 2014 necessitated his move to Sandgate Gardens Rehabilitation Center in Ft. Pierce.
Michael will be deeply missed by family and the many friends whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Michael’s name to:
