Michael “Mike” G. Coccia, 90, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully April 1, 2024.
Mike was born June 11, 1933 in Camden, NJ to Paul and Grace (De Furia) Coccia. After attending Mulford, Fetters, Hatch High School, and Camden High School, as well as Rowan College. Mike served proudly in the United States Army Signal Corps. Mike worked for RCA, Martin Marietta, GE, Lockheed, and L3 as a Graphic Designer.
Mike served as President of the Treasure Coast Woodcarvers and played golf in the Cascades Golf League. Mike was born a Presbyterian. Mike enjoyed golfing, genealogy, flying planes, and fishing. His family and friends considered him a woodcarver extraordinaire, and called him the "clock whisperer" for his work with grandfather clocks. When Mike wasn't playing with wood or grandfather clocks, he loved classical and smooth jazz and watching comedians.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Geri, whom he married on December 20, 2003; beloved daughter, Laura Coccia of Westville, NJ; stepdaughters, Lori (Kris) Sento of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and stepson, Ron Silverman of Staten Island, NY. Mike was blessed with granddaughters, Sophia Lopez of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Darby Silverman of Philadelphia, PA. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Grace; as well as brother, Michael and sisters, Angie and Faust.
Mike was a kind and generous gentleman, who enjoyed giving back to his community. He carved many canes for veterans.
