Michael John Mcguire Jr

Michael John McGuire, Jr., proud husband, father, grandfather, Vietnam Veteran, and retired police officer, drove his Corvette to Heaven following his 5 week battle with bone cancer on Monday, April 7, 2014. In the McGuire family spirit, Mike was a warrior to the end. He was so very thankful for the loving care he received from his wife, children, Son-in-Law, and Daughter-in-Law, who took such wonderful care of him at home during his final 4 weeks before he took his final drive to meet our Lord. Mike was a native of Philadelphia, PA. In 1962 he joined the United States Army where he served in Greenland and Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. Following his return from Vietnam he joined the Philadelphia Police Department where he proudly served the citizens of Philadelphia for 22 years. Following his retirement from the police department, he followed in the footsteps of his sisters and moved his family to Fort Pierce, Florida where he has lived for the past 20 years. Mike is survived by his wife Carla, daughter Phaedra (Chuck), son Michael (Nicole), son Alan (Paige), grandchildren Chuck, Amanda, Michael IV, and Caden. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
