Michael Edward McMeans
May 29, 1976 – June 13, 2016

Michael Edward McMeans, age forty, gained his angel wings after an almost three year long battle with cancer. Although he almost always kept a smile on his face and a positive attitude he is no longer in pain and or suffering.

He has been met in Paradise by his predeceased relatives and friends. Included is his beloved Maternal Grandmother, Barbara Ellen Gallup-Brewer, Uncle, Bruce Evan Brewer and Paternal Grandfather, Edward Dewey McMeans.

Michael was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to his dedicated parents Rebecca Brewer-Davis and Michael McMeans. While Ohio was his birthplace, Port Saint Lucie, Florida was his stomping grounds since the tender age of two. He was a graduate of Port Saint Lucie High School and a Port Saint Lucie Jaguar. He gained his Associates degree in Accounting from Indian River State College. Although, he was a human calculator as many of his friends/family members liked to call him.

However, he decided shortly after he just wasn’t a “suit and tie” type of guy. He was gainfully employed at Advanced Machine and Tool in Fort Pierce, FL. Michael climbed the ropes and worked his way up to a Quality Control Inspector where many of his coworkers/friends addressed him as “Chief.”

They say in the South there are NO strangers, just friends you haven’t met yet. This truly was Michael’s life motto. Michael had an incredible zest for life which will live on through his first born child, Connor Michael McMeans or “Little Buddy” as his father affectionately called him.

He had many hobbies in life, however anyone that knew him could best describe Mike as a sport “fanatic”. His ALL time favorite team was the Miami Dolphins and football hands down was his favorite sport. (Let’s just say his wife was warned by family members and friends alike) He was a hardcore Miami fan all the way!! His favorite sports teams included: The Miami Hurricanes, Miami Heat, Cincinnati Reds, and Marlins. His least favorite team was the dreaded word J-E-T-S. It was like a swear word that needed a quarter for the jar.

His childhood hero was lucky number 13, Dan Marino. As a child he longed to be a player on the team but mostly a quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. He had an extraordinary passion for sports and his knowledge of sports statistics was not only amazing but legendary.

His other great passion on life was music. His love of music was well known and he was always looking to score tickets to a good “show.” Some of his favorites included Bob Marley, Flogging Molly, Ween, The Slackers, Frank Turner, Tool, Bad Brains, The Deftones and Clutch. Punk was definitely his favorite music genre, but he was once convinced to go to a Toby Keith concert. (The things you’ll do for love)

Michael was a good man with old fashioned morals and values. He prided himself on being a Christian family man and role model for his toddler son. He is survived by his beloved wife Melisa Ann McMeans (Roy and Louise) and son Connor Michael McMeans. Survivors in addition to his devoted wife include his mother Becky Brewer-Davis (Dean Davis), father Michael McMeans (Dodi Taylor), his beloved sister Barbara McMeans and two brothers Peter (Anna) and William Brown (Tonya) Also, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was “Uncle Mike” to his nieces and nephews who simply adored him. Michael’s nephews included Jorden, Damien (Barbie), Mason and Ethan (Lora) Zach (Pete/Anna) and a nephew from Connecticut Kevin (Nichole/John) three beautiful nieces Viviana Sophia (Andre) Lily (Pete/Anna) and a niece from Connecticut Keira Jane (Nichole/John).

Words cannot express how sorely missed he will be on this Earth by his family, friends, and coworkers.

“May your days be many and your troubles be few. May all God’s blessings descend upon you. May peace be with you and may your heart be strong. May you find what you’re seeking wherever you roam.” Irish Blessing
