Michael “Mike” Ray Slade
Michael Ray Slade, 66, passed away September 19, 2020 in Fort Pierce, FL.
Mike was born in Newbern, NC on October 15, 1953 to Ralph and Ruby Slade.
For most of his life Mike worked as a heavy equipment operator and was always hard at work with his hands. He loved the mountains and all things nature, including the cold weather. Mostly, Mike loved movie and ice cream nights with his pups Pippa and Daisy Mae.
Mike enjoyed gardening, cooking, family time, and eating Krispy Kreme Donuts! He was famous within his friends and family for his homemade Barbeque sauce and even catered events with his Barbequing skills.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Rachelle “Shelly” Slade of Fort Pierce, FL; Daughters, Bonnie Batson of Clayton, NC and Amanda Maggart of Fort Pierce, FL; Sons, Nicholas Slade and Mitchell Maggart both of Fort Pierce, FL; Grandchildren, Dalton Davis, Dakota Davis, Haley Shaw, Devin Davis, Taylor Batson, Madalyn Batson, Brennan Slade, Tanner Maggart, and Kyla Slade; Sister, Alice Faye Alberti and brother Troy Slade, both of Fort Pierce, FL; and his beloved pups, Pippa and Daisy Mae. He was preceded in death by his Son, Michael Slade Jr.; Father, Ralph Slade; Mother, Ruby Nobles Slade; and Brothers, Danny Slade, and Butch Slade.
Mike’s final wishes were to not have any funeral services. He would not want his life to be remembered by his death, rather, by the way that he lived and loved and the way that he saw the good in everything.
