Michael T. Patterson was born on August 7, 1951 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Mike grew up in North Miami and graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1969. Mike attended Miami Dade Community College before embarking on a long career with Florida Power & Light Company (NextEra Energy). Mike was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Locals #359 in Miami (Chief Job Steward) and Local #627 of the Treasure Coast. Mike worked his way from helper to supervisor and ended his career as coordinator in charge of the underground construction workforce of the Treasure Coast before retiring due to health reasons.
In his spare time, Mike enjoyed softball, football, golf, fishing and diving. He was a die-hard fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his son Sean, sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Lenard Smith, and cousins Tim Postlewaite, and Bruce and David Stieger.
