Michael D. Sasarak, 78, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away May 14, 2022.
Michael, affectionately known by his family as Pop-Pop or Pop-Pop Mike, was born February 20, 1944 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Andrew and Mary Sasarak. He graduated from Linden High School and joined the United States Army. He married Doreen Scheffer in 1982 in Linden, NJ.
Mike was the local butcher at Pathmark Grocery for 40 years. Mike was a parishioner at Sts Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church, where he loved participating in church functions and events. As a Veteran, he joined and supported his local American Legion Post.
Although Mike loved playing the lottery and landscaping, his greatest love was his family. He especially found great joy in being Pop-Pop to his grandchildren.
Survivors include loving wife, Doreen; sons, Michael (Rebecca) Sasarak and Andrew (Bettina) Forde; daughters, Christine (Frank) Strelec and Cynthia (Matthew) Falco; brothers, Joseph and Robert Sasarak. His love will never be forgotten by his grandchildren; Andrew, Kristyn, Troy, Sarah, Cole, Caiden, Lola, Shea, Hunter and Finley. He was preceded by parents, Andrew and Mary, and brothers, Andrew, John and David.
Family will have a visitation on Thursday May 19th, 2022 from 10AM to 12PM at the Haisley Funeral and Cremation Service Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984. A service will be held at 1PM at Sts Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church 1002 Bahama Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
