Michael D. Smith, 61, died August 17, 2013 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Mr. Smith was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to St. Lucie County in 1979.

Michael served in the U.S. Navy and coached for the YMCA and Elks for 13 years. He was a Primary Care Giver for 10 years and an Antique Picker. He loved to travel and spend quality time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Annetta Blanchard Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter, Twilah Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Christopher and Nicolas Smith both of Port St. Lucie, FL; sister, Pamela Smith Rudd of Vero Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Shawn, Blake, Shayla, and Emily Ann; and brothers-in-law, John, Alan, Jay, Tony and Chico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Faye Smith; sister, Diane Procino and brother, Stephen Smith.
