Michele Rene May, 46, died August 11, 2011 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Michele was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL since 2010, coming from Canton, Georgia.
She was a 1984 graduate of the St. Augustine School for the Deaf and Blind, worked for Publix as a cashier for nine years, was a charter member of the Village Church in St. Augustine, FL and was a member of the Jacksonville Deaf Club.
Survivors include her companion, Leo Hammer, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Richard James “RJ” May-Hammer of Port St. Lucie, FL, parents, Pastor Bob and Martie May of St. Augustine, FL and sisters, Melanie Vogelpohl of Portland, OR and Christie Hopson of Fayetteville, NC.
Memorial contributions may be made in Michele’s memory to the Richard J. May-Hammer Memorial Fund, c/o First Atlantic Bank, 7458 US Rt. 1 North, Suite 101, St. Augustine, FL 32095.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at The Village Church, 4225 Pacetti Road, St. Augustine, FL 32092.
