Mickey was born on May 29, 1943 in Gastonia, NC to Powell and Willie Mae (Butler) Sigmon. His parents, Powell and Willie Mae and his three sisters, Shirley Richardson, Doris Ann Rogers, and Delores (Clemmie) Sigmon preceded him in death.

Sigmon; daughters-in-law, Glenna Carlton Sigmon and Dawn Sigmon; six grandchildren, Marcus C. Sigmon, Jasmine Sigmon, Carlton Wade Sigmon, Skye Leigh Sigmon, Shelby Kay Sigmon, and Bella Sigmon; and great grandson, Maverick Sigmon.
Mickey made a career of land surveying for more than 50 years beginning at a construction company in Gastonia, NC, continuing at the General Development Corporation in Port Saint Lucie, FL, and ending in retirement with the Port Saint Lucie Public Works Department. He served as a mentor throughout his career and shared his knowledge by teaching land surveying classes at Indian River Community College in the late 1990s.
Mickey was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. However, he will likely be remembered for his quick wit and devilish grin – qualities of the quiet charisma that led so many to consider Mickey Sigmon a great friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the "Mickey Sigmon Memorial fund" at Seacoast National Bank.
