Mildred Mozelle Edmund
Mildred Mozelle Edmund, 99, passed away peacefully August 9, 2013 at her home in Fort Pierce, Florida surrounded by loving family members.
Mrs. Edmund was born in Newton, Iowa, raised in Ottumwa, Iowa, moving to Rock Island, Illinois in 1941. She lived the last 22 years in Fort Pierce.
Mildred was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed taking long walks, dancing, and could really cut a rug. Her sense of humor shined when playing games and working jigsaw puzzles. She taught swimming and ceramics classes for many years retiring from Augustana College Registrars office.
She got her first computer at age 85 and communicated with friends and family often through emails and facebook. She avidly played games on the computer.
She enjoyed crocheting caps for soldiers being deployed and for friends and family. She was elated if you took a cap home with you.
Mildred served in Boy Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts, and various other organizations. She was always involved in her children’s school organizations.
She was a member of The Crossing Community Church and Living Lord Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Dusanek and Jan Brown both of Ft. Pierce, FL; sisters, Mary Mairet of Davenport, IA and Oma Redden of Largo, FL; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Edmund, sons Dean and William Edmund, granddaughter Lisa Carlson, 3 sisters, and 1 brother, and special friend, David Sheldon.
