Muriel C Tesseyman

Muriel Christiana Tesseyman, 88, a resident of Port Saint Lucie since 1991, passed away peacefully in the wee morning hours of Monday, July 8, 2024 after a long, arduous battle with cancer. Muriel was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Thomas C. Tesseyman and her older brother John Matthews. She is survived by Barbara Matthews, sister-in-law; Kathy (Mike) Lyons, niece; John (Patricia) Matthews, nephew; great-nieces Brianna and Kristin Lyons.

Muriel was born in Canarsie, Brooklyn, NY on June 26, 1936 to the late Muriel Becker and the late John Matthews. 

The family moved to Rosedale, Queens, NY when Muriel was 4 years old. She attended school there and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. In her early career, Muriel was a banking secretary and bookkeeper. She worked for Manufacturer's Hanover Trust and then Chemical Bank and retired (for the first time) from Chase Bank. She went on to work for Hallmark Cards for a number of years then eventually Beall's Department Stores, from which she retired (for the second time) after 20 years, at the age of 84.

Muriel was well loved and will be dearly missed by her family, many friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4PM to 6PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11AM at St Lucie Catholic Church 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. Burial will take place following at White City Cemetery 3800 Sunrise Blvd Ft. Pierce, FL 34982.
