Murray “ Lucky” Winston Noyes

Murray Winston “Lucky” Noyes, 82, of Port St. Lucie, FL gave his biggest smile as he closed his last case as a husband, father, grandfather and Arson Investigator on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

Noyes, a native of Laconia, New Hampshire, joined his parents in June 1960 in Fort Pierce, FL after his Honorable Discharge of four years’ service in the U. S. Navy. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and then the 9320th Air Force Reserve Recovery Squadron separating in January 1967 with rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1964, he received the National Defense Service Medal. While serving in the Navy, he was part of the then top-secret convoy escorting the USS Nautilus to make history as the first ship to cross the North Pole while personally observing the first Polaris A1 missile tests.

Noyes joined the St. Lucie County Fire District on May 1, 1964 and served 14 years as a line firefighter and almost 14 years in the Fire Prevention Bureau. He retired on March 1, 1992 as Assistant Fire Marshal with rank of Captain. He attended Indian River Community College (now State College) in Ft. Pierce and the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD.

He married the love of his life, the former Sharon Henderson, in 1962 and they were to celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary on June 2nd. In 1995, they sold their home in Fort Pierce and retired to Blairsville, GA for 25 years. In May 2017, they returned to St. Lucie County to make their home in Port St. Lucie to be near their family.

Noyes was predeceased by his parents Stewart George Noyes, Sr. and Eleanor Belle Breed, his brothers Stewart George Noyes, Jr. and Malcolm Howard Noyes. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Sharon H. Noyes, son Kenneth (Ignacio) Noyes-Morales, daughter Rhonda (Tommy) Vincent, grandsons Justin (Sarah) Jensen, Adam (Nicole) Vincent, and Dane Vincent; great-grandsons Andrew Vincent and Lawson Vincent; plus a niece and three nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Special thanks is given to Treasure Coast Hospice for the loving care given to ‘Lucky’ over the past month. The family wishes to commend C.N.A. Pam for her most special care; she was truly an Angel sent to him and our family. She was able to bring ‘Lucky’ from a coma Tuesday morning, May 26th that allowed him the most precious and beautiful time with his family before slipping into another coma that evening. The family is also grateful to the nurses who cared for him at The Lynch Pavilion Inpatient Unit, particularly Nurse Nicola.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. with special ‘Moments of Expression’ time at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service, 3015 Okeechobee Road, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
