He was employed in the computer programming industry, retiring as a manager with IBM in 1987, and was a veteran of the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Winona Millett of Fort Pierce, Florida; daughters, Down Skipper of Leesburg, FL, Cheryl Gooch of Largo, FL, Sandra Medlicott of Delray Beach, FL and Valerie Fidler of Boca Raton, FL; son, Nelson Millett of Stuart, FL, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
