Nellie Thompson (Nee Healey)

Nellie Thompson (Nee Healey), 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Pierce, Florida on February 7, 2014. Born in Ottawa, Canada, in 1927, she moved to the United States in 1950 and made North Hutchinson Island her home for the past 28 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and son George. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Beaupre (Ottawa, Canada), Cynthia Breese (Greenville, MI), and Laurel Shire and her husband Theodore (Lambertville, NJ). She will also be dearly missed by her eight grandchildren: Sarah, Gabriel, Joshua, Abigail, Morgan, Devon, Kelly and William, and her thirteen great grandchildren.

Nell was an avid tennis player and volunteered at the library in Fort Pierce and also read newspapers for the blind for the radio station at the Indian River State College as well as tutoring students in Fort Pierce & Vero Beach. She was a member of the Community Church in Vero Beach.
