Port St. Lucie – March 4^th, 1933 – May 5^th, 2023

Norma Jeane Baker Evans of Port St. Lucie, Florida peacefully and comfortably went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her husband of 64 years, Tom, on May 5^th after a short illness at home. She was surrounded by her loving family and beloved pet Amazon parrot of 32 years, Freddy.

Norma was born to Mildred and Lester Baker in Columbus, Ohio on March 4^th, 1933, before moving with Tom and their family to Florida in 1969. Norma loved and was dedicated to her family, church, and countless pets. Norma’s greatest passion was her music. She played the piano and organ her entire life. Playing and singing praises to God whom she so loved, including being the organist at the First Baptist Church of Ft. Pierce for 30 years.

Along with her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Evans Sr.; sons, James P. Evans and David E. Evans; brother, Jack M. Baker; and brother-in-law, James L. Browne. She is survived by her sister, Jane A. Baker Browne; son, Thomas E. Evans Jr.; daughter, Mary Evans Ricks (husband Willie, granddaughter Hailee), and nieces and nephews in Missouri, New York, and California. She is also leaving behind other extended family members.

Friends and family may gather together on Monday, June 5^th, 2023 from 5:00-5:30 PM, with a memorial service to follow from 5:30-6:00. Pastor Mike Schneider and Pastor Tom Milam will be officiating at Haisley Funeral Home in Ft. Pierce. Funeral arrangements are once again, thankfully entrusted to Haisley Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
