Norma Jean “Jeanne” Salyer died March 8, 2019 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
She was born on June 17, 1944 in Memphis TN. She was a devoted mother, nurse, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, cousin and friend.
She is survived by her children, Ben Salyer, Deena Ross and Tim Salyer; grandchildren, Michael Ross and Jeanie Ross; great grandchild, Rylan Ross; siblings, Dan Kimbrough, Charlotte Coffeen, Lowery Phillips, Barbara Allen and Cindy Martina; any many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Normal and Modena Phillips.
She attended Indian River Community College Nursing Program. While attending the nursing program at IRCC, she was nominated for inclusion of the 1976 edition of “Who’s Who Among Vocational and Technical Students of America”. She was president of her class and a member the Campus Coalition. While residing in Illinois, she was honored to head the Paxton, Illinois Day Care Center as both Director and Teacher. She loved gardening, shopping, crocheting, the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation to a charity of your choice in her honor.
