Norman Allen Sponenburgh, 96, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Norman was born on January 21, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in World War II. He also worked as a salesman for EJCO (formerly East Jordan Iron Works) of East Jordan, Michigan from 1961-1990 in Oak Park, Michigan. Mr. Sponenburgh was a member of Meadowood Golf and Tennis Club in Fort Pierce, Florida and a former member of the Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Norman enjoyed playing golf and poker.
Mr. Sponenburgh was preceded in passing by his first wife, Joan (nee Bracken) Sponenburgh; his sons, Brian and Gregory Sponenburgh; and his daughter, Diane (nee Sponenburgh) Suranno.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marline Sponenburgh of Fort Pierce, FL; his daughters, Sharon (William) Merritt of Livonia, MI and Susan (Michael, decd.) Long of Maryville, TN; his son, Mark Sponenburgh of Wixom, MI; his stepsons, David (Barb) and Gregory (Janette) Mitchell of Mississauga, ON and Kevin Mitchell (Eleanore) of Squamish, BC; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
