She was born in Grundy, Virginia and raised in West Virginia.Mrs. Perry was a resident of Fort Pierce for 27 years, coming from Point Pleasant, West Virginia.Opal was a cook in the hospital industry, as well as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, St. Lucie Chapter, a member of the Fort Pierce Seventh Day Adventist Church and a volunteer for many civic duties and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Bessie M. Thomas and Helen L. McCallister both of Port St. Lucie, Florida; daughter Virginia O. Browning of Kansas City, Missouri; son, S. W. McCallister of Lakewood Park, Fort Pierce, Florida; sister, Georgia Hill of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Stella Kisamore of Charleston, West Virginia; sister, Emma Wyatt of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Raymond Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Roby Brown of South Portmouth, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jason and Bessie Blankenship; husband, Homer M. Perry; daughter, Ruby L. Mullins; and, son, Ira M. McCallister
