Mrs. Childs was born in Holland, Michigan and moved to Fort Pierce 10 years ago coming from Allegan, Michigan.
Prior to her retirement, she was a clerical worker for the government. She was a former member of the Elks and Moose Lodge in Allegan, Michigan.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James E. Childs, Sr., of Port Saint Lucie, FL; sons, James E. Childs, Jr., of Fort Pierce, FL, Scott Childs, of Katy, TX, and Dan Childs, of Allegan, MI; daughter, Kim Seifert, of Wilmington, DE; sister, Jean Irwin, of Portage, MI; brother, Michael Winstrom, of Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her sister, Barbara Lamb.
Services: Private services will be held.
