Paul Edward Rust, 66, died April 5th, 2016 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mr. Rust was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania and moved to Vero Beach one year ago from St. Lucie County in which he resided since 1985.
He was a Deputy Sheriff for St. Lucie County and received Officer of the Year in 2014-2015. He also received the Quick Draw Award for the Sheriff Department. Paul gave his life to Jesus in 1995. He did ministry work in the St. Lucie County Jail and was involved in youth ministry with “Holy Fire”. Paul grew up playing basketball and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1970. He was an avid NASCAR fan, avid golfer, loved Fox News, loved riding motorcycles and was a Ford man. Paul was a family man, caring for others above himself. He was loved by all and will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Cindy Rust of Vero beach, FL; children, Amanda Rust, Ashlie (Kyle) Smith, Kayden Paul Rust; brother, Richard Rust of White Sulphur Springs, WVA; sisters, Darlene Robinson and Brenda Guthrie; grandchildren, Robert Pagán and Levi Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Betty Rust and brother, John Wilson Rust.
Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 from 1-3 PM with a service to follow at 3:00 PM at Common Ground Vineyard Church located at 600 Atlantic Ave in Fort Pierce, FL.
